Inbox Outdoor

“Inbox Outdoor” is a public space, contact- improvisation dance piece performed by Abduallah Damra and Hamza Damra, narrating their relationship as cousins and colleagues who spent 10 years working together in Palestine. The presentation is based mainly on improvisation and space; both dancers try to explore a space that is set outdoors away from theatrical constraints. The essence of the presentation is its spontaneity; it does not depend on a specific area, nor a set of choreographed movements. It also doesn’t have a specific music track as its core purpose is to exploit the available materials and conditions, and investigate the dancers’ spontaneous reactions to these conditions.

The piece is set to simulate the dancers’ lives in a futile world, they are static receivers and the role they play lies in their use of existing circumstances rather than creating their own.
In a globalized, irrationally-accelerated world, the conditions in which dancers are constrained by in Palestine are governed by higher policies that have reached a point of being inapprehensible to ordinary people. In this piece, the two dancers try to mimic this reality by creating a random setting of uncontrolled conditions.
